Hubert Védrine nominates as Independant Member of the LVMH Board

LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the world’s leading luxury products group, today announces the entry of M. Hubert Védrine to the board. The LVMH board has decided to propose the appointment of M. Védrine to the Board for ratification as a Non Executive Director at the next Annual General Meeting, on May 13, 2004. Hubert Védrine, a member of the Conseil d’Etat, started his career, after his graduation from l’Ecole Nationale d’Administration, as a senior civil servant at the Ministry of Culture. In 1981, he became Technical Advisor for the President of the French Republic on External Relations at the office of the Secretary General. In 1988, he became spokesman and then was appointed Secretary General for The Elysée in 1991. In 1995, he joined the law firm Jeantet et Associés as a partner. He was Minister for Foreign Affairs between 1997 and 2002. He is the author of several publications on external relations.
